MINISTRY/FAMILY UPDATE

February, 2013

• Four house churches: Pakistani group on Friday evenings, Iraqi group on Monday evenings, a new Iraqi group on Friday evenings, and a Sikh-background (Punjabi) group on Saturdays.  We are seriously considering linking these groups together under the umbrella of one regional-wide cell church.  
• We have our foot in the door at Mohawk College in Hamilton.  We set up a booth at an orientation event for international students and got 20 signatures from interested students (all from India).  We hope to start a new club/ministry on campus this month (this will be an outreach ministry of Hamilton Fellowships, another church we will working alongside).  
• Possibility of a larger Urdu-speaking church in Brampton joining our network of churches.  We are currently talking with them about training their members in evangelism and starting discovery Bible studies in the community.  
• Moving April 1st to Milton, ON.  

Please pray for the following men:

Robin Wasti.  Robin finally received his permanent resident card and is hopeful his family will finally be cleared to join him (it's been three years!).  Please pray his family will get the green light to move to Canada.  Pray also for Robin's group that meets on Friday evenings, that they will mature as a group. 

Javed Iqbal.  Pray that the Lord will continue to provide for Javed and his family.  Pray for boldness as Javed shares the Gospel with Muslims in our area.  Pray for the salvation of his six children.  Pray also for his wife's healing (chronic pelvic pain).    

Athir Moshi.  Pray that his group on Monday night continues to mature as they study their way through the Gospel of John.  Pray for revival to take place in Athir's life and in this group.  Ask the Lord to open the hearts of the many non-believers that are coming on Mondays.    

Dani Oraha.  Pray that Dani's calling to preach the Gospel will intensify and that his understanding of God's Word will deepen.  Pray for the group he recently started on Friday evenings, that those attending will continue to mature and that this group will grow and multiply.  

Jason McGibbon.  Pray for Jason and his family as they continue to reach out to the lost in Hamilton.  They have been under considerable spiritual attack as a family over the past year and could really use your prayers of protection over them.  Pray for us as our two families seek to start a new ministry together at Mohawk College, reaching out to international students.  Pray for a good turn-out of students on Sunday, Feb. 17th, as we hit the streets to pass out blankets, clothes, and food to homeless people.
